Kingswear Parish Council
South Hams, Devon
Welcome to Kingswear
The Civil Parish of Kingswear, is in the South Hams area of the English county of Devon and incorporates Kingswear, Hillhead and Greenway. The Parish has both a rural and coastal setting, much of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Parish of Kingswear includes the villages of Kingswear, Greenway and Hillhead.
Kingswear is situated on the River Dart opposite Dartmouth. As you look across the river and as far as the eye can see, are small rowing boats, paddle skis and some of the country’s most spectacular yachts. The moorings around Kingswear and beyond are indicative of its vast maritime history. It is a charming character village with brightly painted houses, family owned businesses, pubs and restaurants and is one of the most sought after villages in England.
Hillhead is a quiet, predominantly residential suburb within the civil parish of Kingswear developed in the 1970s around the old Raddicombe Farmhouse.
Greenway is Agatha Christies home and has been affectionately called (the loveliest place on earth” and is now cared for by the National Trust.
